Celebrate Love

Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up; does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil; does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.  Love never fails. 1 Corinthians 13:4-8a (NKJV)

February 14th – It’s that time of the year some singles hate passionately (particularly women), the ultimate reminder of their single status, and the fact they have no spouse to share it with. “Lord, why? Why did we have to break up? Why am I alone on again! No one loves me! No one wants me! I’ll be single forever! Why is God punishing me?”

If Valentine’s Day is a show or celebration of love and God IS Love then celebrate Him! Celebrate that God loved you so much he gave His only Son that you might be with Him in eternity, that alone is worth having a Praise Party! And cancelling any Pity Party where the devil is the guest of honor.

On a practical level, why don’t you show Love to those around you who God has given you. Buy roses and chocolates for your single friends, why don’t you organize a Singles Love Party, go and visit lonely widows in a retirement home etc.. Take the focus off yourself and give. You will feel special, that’s guaranteed. Send the link to the Love Language test, find out parents, grandparents, relatives Love Languages and do something special for them based on their Love Language. St. Valentines day is about love and not just romance, so love on the special people in your life.

Happy Valentines Day x

And now abide faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love. 1 Corinthians 13:13 (NKJV)
