So all the congregation lifted up their voices and cried, and the people wept that night. And all the children of Israel complained against Moses and Aaron, and the whole congregation said to them, “If only we had died in the land of Egypt! Or if only we had died in this wilderness! Why has the Lord brought us to this land to fall by the sword, that our wives and children should become victims? Would it not be better for us to return to Egypt?” So they said to one another, “Let us select a leader and return to Egypt.” Numbers 14: 1-4
So you gave up what was not pleasing to God…. and how many months or years later and you are still single?
Like the children of Israel they complained and complained and wanted to go back to Egypt because it seemed better than what they were currently experiencing.
“I should never have moved out of his house, look now I’m all alone” or “she didn’t want to get married or believe in God but now it’s nearly too late for me.”
God has delivered you from bad and even dangerous situations. Your singleness may feel like a wilderness but you must hold on to the Promise of God, leave the murmuring and complaining, and praise the God of your deliverance.
Don’t go back to Egypt, look forward, towards your future!
“But forget all that, it is nothing compared to what I am going to do. For I am about to do something new. See, I have already begun! Do you not see it? I will make a pathway through the wilderness. I will create rivers in the dry wasteland.” Isaiah 43:18-19 NLT
