“He went away again the second time, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if this cup may not pass away from me, except I drink it, thy will be done.“ Matthew 26:42
Often times in life we have issues that we go through and pray about. We don’t want to go though it because it‘s painful, embarrassing, stressful, burdensome, lonely or… being single?
When Jesus was praying in the garden of Gethsemane before He was taken away for crucifixion, He was praying to His Father and basically said “If it’s what you want then, let’s do this!” That’s the kind of attitude and faith we need.
Sometimes we don’t realize that we’re supposed to go through a particular season to either test, prepare, strengthen our faith and character.
We can pray for God to take our singleness away from us but if it’s His will that we remain single for a season then we should say “so be it, have Your way Lord, let Your will be done”. It could be that you need to fully heal from your last relationship maybe, God knows.
There’s nowhere better to be than right in the center of God’s perfect will for our lives.
We already know that His plan for us is good and not evil (Jeremiah 29:11) so no matter what comes our way in life, He is more than able to see us through it if we lean on Him, trust and depend on Him totally because it’s always going to ultimately end in our victory.
