It’s the time of the year when we focus on and celebrate the birth of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ and we remember the story of His humble beginning.
This is a season when family and loved ones are getting together for the Christmas season.
Everyone is talking about gifts they are going to buy for their wives and toys for the children, what they’re cooking for Christmas dinner and so on. Then they ask you about your plans.
You wonder whether to make up and elaborate story or just tell them the truth “I will be alone this Christmas”.
We know it can be particularly hard and an unwanted reminder of your single status. But, nevertheless, like the Apostle Paul we say
“Be happy [in your faith] and rejoice and be glad-hearted continually (always); Be unceasing in prayer [praying perseveringly]; Thank [God] in everything [no matter what the circumstances may be, be thankful and give thanks], for this is the will of God for you [who are] in Christ Jesus [the Revealer and Mediator of that will]. 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 (AMP)
Merry Christmas 2013
